Camp Quality

01 October 2010

Camp quality is an organisation created in 1983 for the purpose of establishing quality of life for children and the families living with cancer. There are programs in every state and territory throughout Australia there are over  240 camps and fun days every year.

This year was the first year that Statewide Civil participated in the 2010 Escarpade, A 8 day car trek from Tamworth to Warialda, 2650 km drive through lakes, dams, mud, rain, hail or shine.

Michael and John Dominello brothers and car enthusiasts made the 8 day trek in the unmistakable car 50.

With quite a few hiccups including daily maintenance, daily wheel alignments, missing exhausts and dented bumper bars it didn’t seem to dampen their spirits.
The highlight of this event for us was the school visits where children had the chance to have a look at all the cars and for the boys to hand out lolly bags
and for the children to learn about the causes of cancer from the camp quality puppets

With a breakfast, lunch and dinner in almost a different town every day and the scenerary that you just don’t get in Sydney was a once in a lifetime experience. With that said we have now decided that this will be a yearly event for us from now on. We would also like to thank all the people that donated money and supported us along the way for this worthy, heart touching charity and will hopefully be able to support us again in 2011
